MW3: at War with Hackers

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has gone to war with the dirty little hackers. Once you may have played a on-line game, and came across a guy who was flying or hiding in a rock. Most of these people are hackers and cheaters gaining an unfair advantage over us normal people. Well Activision says no more banning over 1600 people in the first few weeks of release:

”Any attempt to cheat,hack or glitch in MW3 will no be tolerated”, says creative strategist Robert Bowling on twitter. ”1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please cont. to report offenders.”

The hackers seemed to have gained the ability to exit the on-line map and hide in ‘unauthorised’ places.

”We will verify reports with in-game stats, in-game video recordings and other data to verify you were cheating” Robert bowling tweeted.

The bans have affected both PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 users. Rival game ‘Battlefield 3’ has had to ban players who found ways to gain thousands of points in matches.

MW3 low Metacritic User Score

A few Days ado MW3 rated 2.7 out of 10, pretty embarrassing for such a big title I know. What shocked me the most was Glen Schofield, developer of MW3 coming out and practically begging on twitter for people to go and raises it, he said:

‘I don’t usually do this but, if you like MW3 go 2 metacritic.com and help our user score. It’s suspiciously low. Be honest but help if u agree’

Metacritic is a site that you can rate or grade entertainment like music , films and games. It is a great place to go to if you can’t decide if you want something or not, just remember it’s the public voting on the score.

MW3: 1 Day Left!

The time is almost upon us where we stop playing MW2 or Black ops and put MW3 in our disc tray. Yes folks it is 1 whole day till Modern Warfare 3 comes out. I just can’t contain my self. I will have 2 prestige tokens – from prestiging in Black ops and MW2 plus 4 hours double XP which I got from pre-ordering of Game. I will keep you updated on: what I think of the game, which guns are the best, the best camping spots on maps and tones of other stuff. MW3 for $1725

Mw3 has been mistakenly sold early on eBay for $1725. Now, I know a lot to pay for a video game but you’ve got to admire the balls and money of this guy. He has the game early he can be 50 levels a head by the time we get it! One copy was placed on eBay and sold for nearly 29 times the retail price. It was bid for 88 times in total.

Early play may carry a harsh price. Xbox live’s Director of Policy and Enforcement Steven Tolouse tweeted ‘re-release play not authorised. Please be patient playing early may impact your account’. Activision has put these rumours at rest though saying they have no interest in banning players who get the game earlier. They just ask for ‘everyone to wait for Tuesday when everyone can play the game together’

Call of Duty: Double XP

For the first time ever there is double XP across the whole Call of Duty franchise, for the whole weekend, that’s Call of Duty 4, World at War, Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. My advise is use this to prestige and in doing so you will get prestige tokens in MW3 which you can buy stuff with, like an extra create-a-class or special emblems. So in Mw3 you could start of with 6 create-a-class and be ahead of the game. Beat you friends!

Battlefield 3: A simulator like no other!

Today I was browsing YouTube and came across a ‘Gadget Show’ clip of a BF3 simulator where you are the soldier. You move – He moves, you shoot – he shoots … you get it. The full ‘article’ will be on Monday 24th October and looks a cracker. MW3 Game deal

The new instalment in the Call of Duty franchise is coming! Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) is released on the 11th November. The solo picks up straight after its predecessor Modern Warfare 2 and it’s hypothetic WW3 and includs the stars of the game (John ‘soap’ McTavish and Cpt. John Price). Luckilly the game will focus more on the story telling aspect, something MW2 lacked. It is a clasic CoD campagain, a  ‘very cinematic experiance with inseane action moments’. The Co-op mode will feature ‘Spec ops’ like in MW2 and the new addition of ‘Survival’ a horde bassed game mode, dubed the ‘Zombies of Modern Warfare 3’.

The Multiplayer should paly like MW2, fast paced and addrenalin pumping. The wepons will have stoping power included and so wont be a perk. Not returning from Black ops:

Battlefield or Call of Duty?

A few people have now asked me whether they should get Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3. I  haven’t played battlefield, but I will try to tell you what I expect from each game. Telling you its strengths in Campaign, Multiplayer and any other Game modes.

Campaign – Having not played battlefield, I don’t now the storyline but I can tell you that both games are set at the same sort of time –  not so far in the future during WW3. I expect that in Battlefield you will fly and generally drive vehicles as well as be a foot soldier. In MW3 you will be more of a foot soldier using you gun a lot but calling in airstrikes and AC130s once in a while. The past Call of Duty’s campaign have let us down, the MW2 campaign was over the top – with no storyline. Apparently though Activision have focused more on a cinematic experience for MW3 and will have a storyline, following on from MW2.

Multiplayer –  Both games are set at the same time, and so should have the same type guns. Battlefields multiplayer is dubbed as ‘fair’ whatever that means. It is very team best, working in squads will benefits all of you. Going on a lone shooting rampage will not, because you’ll get shot with no one to back you up. Call of duty however you can play either and you get kill streaks from it! Activision has tried to make a fairer game that benefit people who plant bombs, capture flags and generally be a hero! Battlefield has bigger maps, they are vast but won’t you get lost? Call of Duty’s maps are tighter and quicker and generally you can remember them.

Mw3 also has a spec-ops and survival game modes both based on previous games. Survival is the zombies of MW3 and Spec-ops is from MW2. They should be fun but will they feel too familiar? Or get boring?

How to improve your game!

Back when I was a noob on CoD, I struggled to go positive. Here are my tips and tricks so you can be prepared for MW3 or improve on earlier CoD games.

MW2, 'Ump45' with 'Red Dot' sight

1. Sensitivity – turn your sensitivity up. Some times when you go in for the knife, you miss and it’s whoever turns round first gets the kill.
2. Brightness – Turn up your brightness to see the happy campers in dark corners.
3. Button layout – Try out the ‘Tactical Button Layout  it keeps you body motions closer to your fingers so drop shotting is easier.
4. Sound – some times the volume isn’t loud enough and you may not hear the click of a gun round the corner.
5. Perks – use perks to complement you play style and gun, don’t have Lightweight or Marathon if you’re a camper.
6. Kill streaks – Set your kill streaks to what you can achieve or whats the point?
